Safeguarding All Children
Bearwood Primary and Nursery School is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
If you have any concerns please contact the following people through the School Office:

If you think a child is in immediate danger don't delay - call the police on 999 or call the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000, straight away.
As a Parent/Carer and /or member of the community you can contact the Children's First Response Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) if you are worried about child abuse or a child's wellbeing.
The Children's First Response MASH is a single point of contact for professionals or the public for advice and support about children at risk.
The contact details are:
- 01202 123 334
- childrensfirstresponse@bcpcouncil.gov.uk
- Children's First Response Hub for child abuse or neglect concerns | BCP (Website)
You should contact Children's First Response if you:
- Know of a child or young person who is vulnerable and needs help
- Want to know more about our support for children, young people and their families
- Need support to agree an Early Help offer
- Are worried about a child or a young person who is at risk of being hurt and abused
If you are not sure if a child is at risk, you can talk to BCP or a professional who works with children, such as a member of the school safeguarding team. All professionals who work with children have a responsibility to make sure they are safe and will know how to help.
The Governing Body and staff of Bearwood Primary & Nursery School recognise that children have a fundamental right to be protected from harm and that pupils cannot learn effectively unless they feel secure. The Governing Body will, therefore, provide a school environment which promotes self-confidence, a feeling of worth and the knowledge that pupils’ concerns will be listened to and acted upon.
The Safeguarding Governor is Rachael Jouan.
If you have any serious concerns about your child or any other pupil at Bearwood Primary and Nursery School please do not hesitate to contact any of the Safeguarding Team who know who to contact for the best advice and help. Our Safeguarding Team will listen to any concerns you have about members of our school community in a confidential manner.
The school uses the Operation Encompass process which ensures all children experiencing domestic abuse receive timely support in their school.
The school also engages in Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference where information is shared on the highest risk domestic abuse cases.
As part of our ongoing Safeguarding work in school, we regularly speak with our children about how we can all be ‘READY, RESPECTFUL, SAFE’. Safety is promoted through our PSHE & Safety Curriculum (click here for further information about this).
Our Online Safety Champion is Cheryl Smith, supported by Richie Rockstar – please see our Online Safety page for more information and guidance.
Our Anti-Bullying Champion is Olivia Lyster – please see our Anti-Bullying page for more information and guidance.
