Upper KS2 – Year 5/6 – Maple Base

Year 5 marks an exciting and important stage in your child’s primary school journey — the penultimate year before they move on to Year 6. It’s a gentle yet purposeful transition from Lower to Upper Key Stage 2, where pupils begin to grow in confidence and independence. This year brings new opportunities for responsibility, including — for the first time — looking after their own pencil case and stationery!

Our Year 5 class truly reflects our school vision: Learning, Enjoying, Succeeding Together.  In this important stage of primary school, pupils begin to take on new challenges with growing independence, celebrate their achievements, and support one another as they deepen their learning. We aim to make Year 5 a year filled with curiosity, confidence, and joyful experiences — laying the foundation for a successful transition into Year 6 and beyond.
