As we come to the end of our first half term, I want to say a heartfelt thank you for a truly wonderful start to the academic year. The children have settled brilliantly into school life, and it’s been a joy to see them embracing our routines with such positivity. Staff and pupils alike have worked hard to be relentless in upholding our values of being ready, respectful, and safe, and this has created a calm and purposeful learning environment across the school.
A particular welcome to all children in our Nursery who have joined us in the Acorn Room. They have really taken on our 'ready, respectful, safe' rules and are living these out in their activities.
This term has been filled with memorable moments - some of which are shared in this newsletter. Our Black History Month visitor brought powerful stories and inspiration, and the children’s engagement in the Be Brave workshops this week was nothing short of fantastic. We continue to live out our school vision of Learning, Enjoying, Succeeding Together, always striving to give our children the very best opportunities.
Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended Parents’ Evening last week. Your partnership is vital in helping your child thrive, and it was lovely to see so many of you working together with us to support their learning journey.
A special mention must go to all the children working towards the Bearwood Brilliance Award—the effort and enthusiasm have been great to see! It’s been a pleasure to hear about their achievements, both in school and in the wider community. Alfie’s example of showing kindness at a care home was truly heart-warming and a wonderful reflection of our values - well done Alfie!
Our assemblies this term have focused on appreciation, and it’s been lovely to see the children showing gratitude and enjoying time together. Thank you all for your continued support for the school. As we head into the half term break, I wish you all a restful and safe holiday and look forward to going again in November! Mrs Smith
