Safeguarding

Bearwood Primary and Nursery School takes seriously its responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of the children and young people in its care. School staff are governed by very clear rules about child protection and Safeguarding. These are laid down in a Government Circular 10/95 “Protecting Children from Abuse: The role of the Education Service”. Where school staff see signs that cause them concern they should seek information from the child with tact and sympathy. School staff have a professional responsibility to share relevant information about the protection of children with other professionals, particularly the investigation agencies.
